In the case of Malaysia, Islam has been acknowledged as the religion of the Federation, while ahl al-sunnah wa al-jamaah is well accepted as a Muslim creed and serves as the main source of reference, especially in matters arising from Islamic doctrine. However, it is undeniable that there are other creeds that do not conform to this creed, such as Shia and Qadiyani, as well as modern Western ideologies such as humanism, pluralism, liberalism, rationalism, and so on. These distorted theological sects and ideologies practice some deeds that are contrary to Islamic law, such as mut’ah or temporary marriage, intense devotion to a particular individual, defining the legal ruling using logical reasoning, and so on. These phenomena have led to misunderstandings, especially among the young generation, thus leading to negative cultural practices that would impede the survival of the Muslim civilization in Malaysia. Therefore, this qualitative study is developed based on library research data. As a result, this article aims to elucidate the framework of ahl al-sunnah wa al-jamaah creed that should be preserved to keep up with the coming challenges to Muslims. Subsequently, it proposes several efforts and solutions that need to be considered to preserve the survival and status of this creed in Malaysia.
2023-07-28T08:55:57+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1356 Masjid in the Qur’ān and Hadīth; Continuity and Cultural Creativity 2023-09-30T13:14:44+00:00 Imam Ghazali Said imamghazalisaid@gmail.com
-
2023-07-28T13:39:05+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1203 Digital Archives and Preservation of Zakat-related Documents: Towards a Comprehensive Resource for Islamic Philanthropy 2023-09-30T13:15:14+00:00 Venkatesha Nayak nayakvn16@gmail.com Kavya P Hegde hegde.kavya312@gmail.com
The purpose of this study is to propose a framework for the digital archiving and preservation of zakat-related documents within the context of Islamic philanthropy. The importance of fable texts to build child psychology, challenges often come from translating fable texts, choosing simple words as if there are two sides of a coin due to cultural differences between the source language and target language, translators are required to be creative and innovative in translating fable texts, have extensive knowledge in order to be able to present alternative solutions so as to achieve accurate translation results. The methods and results of this analysis show that this analysis aims to increase the level of knowledge in the field of fable text translation through the selection of translation techniques supported by theory in translation strategy activities. This essay also seeks to investigate the justification for the translation method. For this work, the author used a case study design and a qualitative research approach. The original and Emma Heesters’ translation of the lyrics to a Cuek song served as the study’s participants. The song lyrics were collected in both their English and Indonesian versions by the author using a documented technique to get the data. The author used Newmark’s theory to examine the data. The findings of this study show that, despite some song lyrics emphasizing the source language, the translation technique mostly concentrated on the target language. Therefore, the necessity to harmonize the translation’s intonation or tone with the music could account for Emma Heesters’ predisposition to stress the target language when translating. The fact that some lyrics were rewritten to better suit the female singer, whereas the original version was performed by a male singer, also played a role in this.

2023-07-29T12:15:08+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1230 Assessing Language Proficiency through AI Chatbot-Based Evaluations 2023-09-30T13:17:14+00:00 Fithriyah Inda Nur Abida fithriyahabida@unesa.ac.id Rahayu Kuswardani rahayu@gmail.com Oikurema Purwati purwati@gmail.com Abdul Rosyid rasyid@gmail.com Etik Minarti etik@gmail.com
This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of using AI chatbots for assessing language proficiency. Due to its inherence in human life, conflict is a fascinating topic to study because it makes the core of the dynamics of human life. Without it, life is like food without salt, and there is no point in struggling and changing. Using a discourse content analysis, the data taken from the utterances of drama script were thematically analyzed by implementing the textual and contextual interpretation. It was discovered that the kinds of human conflicts can be either manifested physically or emotionally between individuals or socials. The conflicts in the storyline of the play occurred between man and nature. Second, the conflict also happened between a man and another man. The manifestations of this later kind were both between individuals, namely man and man, and socials, viz. between a man and a group of men. It was concluded that conflict that is sourced from strong personal egocentrism and obstinacy and/or lack of tolerance and empathy would come to an end when approached with love and tenderness.
2023-07-31T09:42:43+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1307 Social Media for Islamic Da‘wah and Peaceful Coexistence in Yorubaland, Nigeria 2023-07-31T10:28:39+00:00 Kazeem Oluwaseun Dauda seundelaw@gmail.com
This study examined the effect of social media misuse for Islamic Da‘wah on peaceful coexistence in Yorubaland, Nigeria, using a descriptive survey research design and an observational method. Data collected through a validated questionnaire were analyzed using simple percentage statistics. Findings reveal that the emergence of social media has significantly altered the patterns of Islamic Da‘wah globally, but its utilization by certain Yoruba Muslim preachers (Du‘at) has elicited conflicting reactions. It contends that some Yoruba Du‘at has used social media platforms to spread misinformation, hate speech, name-calling, condemnation of fellow Muslims, and character defamation instead of providing forums for discussions on religious tolerance, dialogue, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence. This has invariably led to constant hostility and confrontation, disunity among religious sects, mistrust among the Muslim ummah, tensions, and an increasing tide of Islamophobia. Also, non-Muslims are contesting Islamic scholars’ nature of Da‘wah propagation, the viability of their messages, and even the level of religious tolerance in Islam. The study concludes that contemporary Yoruba Du‘at should harness the potential of social media in the course of Da‘wah propagation to promote peaceful coexistence, foster a sense of unity among Muslim ummah, and avoid expressing outbursts that could potentially spark religious violence.
2023-07-31T10:28:35+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1309 Development of Islamic-Science Integrated Physics E-Module To Build the Character Profile of Pancasila Students for High School Students 2023-08-01T13:30:41+00:00 Semiono Raharjo serasherly@gmail.com Yenda Puspita yendapuspitah@gmail.com
The Pancasila student profile (PSP) is a form of translation of the national education system. Shadia shows herself as a Muslim who migrated from Sudan to Scotland and is described as a civilized Muslim. There are indications that the short story has implicit messages showing refusals to the ‘othered’ Sudanese as a third-world country. Therefore, this study aims to describe how the refusals of ‘othered’ Sudanese is seen through Islamic woman and civilized Sudan, which is more civilized than the view from the West. This research studies postcolonialism from Edward Said’s perspective because it discusses the labels given to Eastern and Western countries. The results of this study show that Shadia, as a Sudanese Muslim, can strengthen Islamic principles as an aspect of majesty and civilization. She also can explicitly express her opinion as an independent Muslim woman who refuses European-centric understanding as the ‘other,’ as the ‘Orient,’ and as primitive.
2023-08-03T00:52:04+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1314 Development of A Technology-Based Storybook Model for Moral Intelligence in Early Childhood 2023-08-03T03:43:15+00:00 Yenda Puspita yendapuspitah@gmail.com Semiono Raharjo serasherly@gmail.com Mohammad Fauziddin fauziddin@universitaspahlawan.ac.id Azhar azhar@lecturer.unri.ac.id
This research is motivated by the low interest in reading in children today. Writing this article aims to analyze the existence of the mbeleh golekan tradition, whose ritual is very different from most other village clean tradition rituals. Where the discussion of this article covers the history of the emergence of the mbeleh golekan tradition, the processions and rituals carried out during this tradition, and the meaning of the symbols in it. The tradition of mbeleh golekan has been attached and an inseparable part of local people's lives for centuries. The involvement of mutual cooperation and collective community efforts is a form of effort to maintain a clean environment, care for cultural heritage, and strengthen social ties among villagers.

The ethnographic approach used in writing this article was carried out through interviews with several residents of Kandangan Village. Apart from that, this article also uses a qualitative approach which is supported by a literature study of scientific journals and theses, as well as an analysis of several YouTube channels that carry traditional mbeleh golekan content.

The mbeleh golekan tradition is believed by the people to have existed and was carried out since the Majapahit era with the aim of being a ritual to repel reinforcements or danger. The implementation of this tradition is carried out by slaughtering dolls in the form of human babies, which are then buried at certain location points in Kandangan Village. The dolls that are slaughtered are substitutes for real human babies as sacrifices to repel reinforcements every month of Suro. The mbeleh golekan tradition is routinely carried out every year as a tribute of gratitude to the Danyang who opened the mat of the cage. It was as if it had to be carried out, because of the local people's belief that if the mbeleh golekan tradition was not held, then a disaster would occur within a few days. Gratitude is also expressed through reading prayers or tahlil at each point of the procession, which is held a week before the peak of the event. The local community performs the mbeleh golekan and tahlilan rituals as a form of thanksgiving to Allah SWT.
2023-08-05T02:54:51+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1332 Digital Arabic Learning in Education and Training Center UNIDA Gontor 2023-08-20T04:46:00+00:00 Muhammad Syamsul Arifin ms.arifin@unida.gontor.ac.id Mandrasi Amira Sa'idah mandrasi.amira@unida.gontor.ac.id Ifa Rodifah Nur ifa.rodifah@unida.gontor.ac.id Ahmad Dzulfiqar elarieve85@gmail.com
This study aims to examine the efforts of the University of Darussalam Gontor Education and Training Center (Pusdiklat) in digitizing learning Arabic as a foreign language or TAFL (Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language). The selected short stories are part of the "Changemakers" theme, which is included in the website's reading list and features twelve different kinds of short stories. To analyze the intrinsic element in the short stories, the researchers employ qualitative research methods, including structured coding and thematic analysis, to interpret the subjective meaning of the selected data. The study uses the New Criticism theory, emphasizing close reading to uncover the unrevealed Islamic teachings and values expressed and communicated in the text data. This analysis demonstrates the significant presence of Islamic teachings and values in representing and promoting Islam within the digital narratives website. The discovery of an immersive Islamic frame or setting and alignment with Islamic values can convey Islamic ideals such as Tawheed, prophethood, the five pillars of Islam, and more. This article aims to explain the role of digital technology in developing science in Islamic civilization using a qualitative approach. In Islamic civilization, the science of Falak had a vital role in religious practice. Among them, it helps determine the direction of Qibla, prayer times, calendars, and various celestial phenomena related to religious practices, such as eclipses. The existence of digital technology in the study of Falak includes scientific calculators that help calculations quickly and accurately (replacing rubu' mujayyab), telescopes that help hilal observations become more precise (replacing the location goal), and theodolite that helps determine the direction of Qibla to be more accurate (replacing compasses and rubu' mujayyab). Currently, digital technology in science has also developed. It helps remote observation, such as the Dawn Observation Automation System (SOOF) technology to observe Fajar Sadiq and the Hilal Remote Observatory (HRO) to observe the moon from a distance. In addition, science applications/software make science information easier and faster accessible to the public. Thus, the critical role of digital technology in the study of Falak is to help collect data and access information more easily, quickly, and precisely; and provide more detailed and accurate results.
2023-08-08T06:15:19+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1350 تحليل الأمر من صياغ ومعانيها في كتاب المولد الديبعي لإمام عبد الرحمن بن علي بن محمد الشافعي ابن الديبع الزبيدي الشيباني (دراسة علم المعاني) 2023-08-08T06:56:13+00:00 Muhammad Wahyudi yusufazizmustofa0@mhs.unida.gontor.ac.id Aghitsna Rahmatika yusufazizmustofa0@mhs.unida.gontor.ac.id Yusuf Aziz Mustofa yusuf.am2001@gmail.com
2023-08-08T06:56:09+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1327 ANISARA (Quantum Learning Speaking Arabic) as A Strategy to Improve Arabic Speaking Skills 2023-08-09T02:23:24+00:00 Nurjanah Pujirahayu Suyadi nurjanahpujirahayu22@student.pba.unida.gontor.ac.id Laily Nur Hidayati nurjanahpujirahayu22@student.pba.unida.gontor.ac.id Laisa Bahraini nurjanahpujirahayu22@student.pba.unida.gontor.ac.id
Quantum Learning Arabic is inspired by Quantum Teaching, a learning model developed by Bobby DePorter. This study aims to discuss the urgency of learning Arabic to explore Islamic religious knowledge. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach. The analytical method used in this research is content analysis. The results of the study found that Arabic has an urgency in studying Islam because: 1) the main source of Islamic religious teachings is in Arabic, 2) the works of Ulama discussing religious knowledge are written in Arabic, 3) the study of science will be more valuable if based on Arabic arguments and 4) the lack of Muslim scholars who are experts in Arabic.
2023-08-09T02:22:22+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1313 دور العامل الثقافي في تعلم اللغة العربية للناطقين بغيرها: الثقافة المصرية نموذجا 2023-08-09T04:28:19+00:00 Ibrahim Youssef Abdelhamid ibrahimyoussef@uitm.edu.my Hazrati Binti Yahaya hazrati87@uitm.edu.my
2023-08-09T04:28:14+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1357 Trends of Hadith Studies in Artificial Intelligence Research Works on Google Scholar: A Literature Review 2023-08-09T05:15:54+00:00 Ananda Prayogi anandaprayogi003@gmail.com
This literature review explores the research on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in hadith studies worldwide. Data from AI-related research publications on hadith between 2019 and 2023 were analyzed using Google Scholar, a widely used academic search engine. The study emphasizes the significance of using AI technology to enhance Islamic scholarship through hadith studies. The primary objective is to understand the trends in AI publications related to hadith studies and identify the most commonly used AI subfields for analyzing hadith texts. The data analysis includes 29 relevant publications from credible academic sources and journals. The findings reveal fluctuations in AI-related studies on hadith, but the overall trend is declining, indicating a need for further development in this study area. Additionally, the research findings highlight that AI-related publications in Indonesia are still limited, despite being the largest Muslim-populated country. Comprehensive reference books on this topic have also not been found in the past five years. Furthermore, AI research focusing on matan studies in hadith is relatively scarce compared to sanad studies, and other AI subfields beyond Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing require more research to foster development.
2023-08-09T05:15:50+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1358 Gender Stereotypes in the Short Story Saya di Mata Sebagian Orang by Djenar Maesa Ayu (A Feminist Study) 2023-08-20T05:21:18+00:00 Guntur Sekti Wijaya gswijaya1986@uinsby.ac.id Erawati Dwi Lestari erawatidwilestari@iainkediri.ac.id
This study aims to analyze gender stereotypes in the short story entitled Saya di Mata Sebagian Orang by Djenar Maesa Ayu using a feminist study approach. This study involves a critical reading of narratives and characters in short stories to uncover the emergence of gender stereotype constructs. This research method uses text analysis and literary interpretation from a feminist perspective. Through this approach, the researcher identifies how the characters in the short story represent gender stereotypes generally related to the traditional roles and characteristics of men and women. The results of the study show that there is a strong gender stereotype in this short story. Women are depicted as trapped in limited roles, such as sexual objects or figures who depend on men. Meanwhile, men are described as authoritarian figures and have dominant power. Feminism studies provide critical insights into the gender stereotypes in this short story and reveal how gender constructions can influence women's experiences and identities in society. (2) Describe the succession events of the leadership of the Islamic government during the Companions period. (3) Understand the political and socio-economic development of Islamic society in the early Islamic world. This research uses qualitative methods through literature study techniques. The results of data tracking were analyzed using historical methods and case study theory. The results of this study indicate (1) the political arena during the reign of Khulafa' al-Rashidun can be categorized into two parts. First, at the beginning of the reign of the khulafa' al-Rashidun, the companions carried out internal consolidation, strengthening the ummah even though it was colored by fighting against enemies for interests based on Islamic values. Second, during the second half of the government, disputes began to occur between fellow Muslims, which led to civil war. (2) The event of succession or replacement of the caliph system in the era of the khulafa' al-Rashidun went according to the mechanism agreed upon at that time, so the four caliphs had different appointment models. (3) The socio-economic conditions of the Islamic community at that time went up and down according to political conditions and stability. The results of this study are expected to be a positive correlation for Muslims in Indonesia to implement Islamic political values in the context of national life within the framework of the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia.
2023-08-11T08:31:56+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1363 Scientific Role of ‘Āisyah Binti Abu Bakr: A Critical Study on Muhammad Sa’id Ramadan Al-Buti in ‘Aisyah Umm al-Mukminin Ayyamuha wa Siratuha al-Kamilah fisafahat 2023-08-20T05:30:47+00:00 Rochimah rochimah@uinsby.ac.id
This article aims to examine the views of Said Ramadan al-Buti in the book of 'A<isyah Umm al-Mukmini>N Ayya>muha> Wa Si>ratuha> al-Ka>milah fi> Safaha>t about the scientific role of 'Aisyah in spreading and developing the religion of Islam after the Prophet. As one of the major sources of religious understanding, In Indonesia, a country with a predominantly Muslim population, the dissemination of religious knowledge through Friday sermons plays a crucial role in influencing the mindset of the Muslim community. Understanding the significance of studying the textual content of Friday sermons disseminated online becomes essential for a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon. This paper addresses the central question: “How is the concept of Moderate Islam interpreted and conveyed within the textual content of The Arrahim.id’s Friday sermons?” Utilizing Roland Barthes’ Semiotics, this study interprets both denotative and connotative texts in the sermon content displayed on the website Arrahim.id, with the object of analyzing Moderate Islam. Furthermore, the research aims to capture how these texts promote an inclusive, harmonious, and respectful understanding of Islam among Muslims and the wider community. The findings of the study indicate that the denotative meaning of tolerant Islam is based on the teachings of the Quran, Hadith, and Islamic attitudes. On the other hand, the connotative meaning within the sermon texts portrays the image of Islam as Rahmatan lil’alamin representing Moderate Islam. This meaning is then elaborated through moderate attitudes and practices. However, moderate Islam views personal purity and social engagement as interconnected elements in expressing faith. By prioritizing love and compassion for others, believers embody the true essence of Islamic teachings and contribute to the betterment of society.
2023-08-12T13:03:40+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities (ICONITIES) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1365 المراجعة النحوية لبرامج التشكيل الآلي للنصوص العربية: برنامج تشكيل نموذجا 2023-08-18T03:29:09+00:00 Nasaruddin nasaruddin@uinsby.ac.id
2023-08-18T03:29:04+00:00 Copyright (c) https://proceedings.uinsby.ac.id/index.php/iconfahum/article/view/1375 Students’ Perceptions on the Use of Online Quiz Platforms in English Literature Department UINSA 2023-09-06T03:49:06+00:00 Nadiah Salsabila nadiahnasa09@gmail.com Tristy Kartika Fi'aunillah tristykartika@gmail.com
Online media's popularity in English teaching has been exceptionally vast in recent years. The researchers see that education is a sector that continues to grow along with advances in technology, so learning media should adapt to its development. Moreover, the nahwu lesson is one of the lessons that requires tools for understanding. Apart from the stigma that nahwu is a difficult lesson, it is also a tool for understanding knowledge from turats book. The preparation of this media uses instructional design principles with articulate storyline 3 to create interactive learning media for novice students. The researchers use basic R&D methods whose stages start from needs analysis, design, development, and product evaluation. The results of this study indicate that the learning media based on articulate storyline 3 has passed the validation of several experts and is ready to be tested to the next stage. The researchers' hypothesis from the creation of this media in the future is that developed learning media is able to increase motivation, results, and effectiveness for student nahwu learning through more interesting and interactive learning experiences.
2023-08-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Civilization and Humanities
